In 1961, Kenneth Desch and family founded Industrial Gasket & Shim Company. Since then IGS, Inc. has grown from three to over 100 employees and has a global client base. We at TROCKI-GORDON SUPPLY are proud to partner with IGS to further promote and market these products to Canadian Industry. IGS, Inc. are ISO 9001:2000 certified, and manufacture gaskets, shims, stampings, seals, sealants, and do laser and water jet cutting.

PRODUCTS

Shims: Standard shim pack with carry box in sizes A,B,C,D. Precision laser and water jet cut parts from flat sheet materials. Multi directional laser can process 3 dimensional parts by cutting all holes, slots and bevels in one operation. This laser can also be used to cut intricate profiles making parts ready for assembly. Most common alloys and plastic sheet available.

Sealants: High temperature sealants designed and proven to seal hot fastened joints effectively. Did you know that most high temperature sealants are water-based? Once the joint becomes dry from heat the mortar will begin to lose pliability and begin to crack. Over time as the joint expands and contracts the mortar will release and fall out. The sealants in this section are all engineered using formulations that are right for you - no water added.

Rotary Sealing Systems: for Calciners, Coolers, Dryers, & Kilns. These seals help to promote reliability by reducing the amount of air drawn into the kiln. This helps to maintain lower fuel cost, consistent kiln temperature and long term reliability. These seals are made from high temperature fabrics and metal plates.

Continuous Caster: Traditionally conical ceramic gaskets and mortars have been used to seal the lower nozzle/shroud and slide gate connection to prevent air from entering the steel stream in the continuous casting operation. Ceramic ropes and/or V boards have also been used to pack the gap found between the dummy bar and mould walls. IGS has developed products while working with steelmakers to enhance reliability in these critical applications. In this environment the IGS seal is able to withstand misalignment, vibration and conform to the surface of the nozzle shroud and mould geometries. It also provides the installer with a safe alternative and protection from harmful respirable fibres. IGS continues to research these and many other high temperature applications.
